Community Programs

Career Communications Group found it of paramount importance to promote opportunities for ethnic communities to take a leadership role in developing and teaching our children about technology, and to ensure that we will have a role in this global phenomenon. The field of technology is the future. Studies show that Information Technology is already outstripping all other industries in economic growth.

To address the huge gap in Internet usage and computer ownership between the U.S. mainstream and many of our ethnic families in underserved communities we created three technology awareness programs: Black Family Technology Awareness Week;La Familia Technology Week and the Native American Technology Journey. In addition, we founded The Foundation for Educational Development, which provides grants to organizations looking to promote technology awareness. IBM is the national corporate founding sponsor of all three technology awareness programs, which we are pleased to say has now gone beyond the borders of the United States and into Brazil, South Africa and Toronto.

If you are interested in finding out how your organization: community group, school or church, can get involved in one or more of our technology awareness programs contact our Community Outreach Manager, Paulette Pettit-Austrich at 410-244-7101 or visit:
